Incubus Issues

Posted by: Alan Cross | Feb 9 2010 12:00AM

The line-up in Incubus has been pretty stable since they were formed in 1991. There have only been two personnel changes. Dirk Lance was the bass player until 2001 before leaving to write music for video games.

Then there’s Gavin Koppel, the band’s original DJ. He was with the group between 1994 and 1998. He was fired because he apparently had issues with some of the other members.

His replacement was Chris Kilmore, who’s still with Incubus today. But Koppel just can’t leave things alone. Chris has had to take out two restraining orders on Koppel after alleged harassment and even a death threat. And this isn’t new, apparently. Incubus says that he’s been hassling the band ever since he was fired back in 1998.
