Ian Brown in Wife Assault Drama

Posted by: Alan Cross | Nov 3 2009 2:00PM

This is the kind of story the British media loves, so I’m warning you now that it’s going to get messy.

Ian Brown, the ex-singer of the Stone Roses, was arrested yesterday morning at his home. At around 8am local time, neighbours called police when they thought they heard a disturbance at Brown’s West Kensington home. When they showed up, Brown’s wife, Fabiola Quiroz, allegedly claimed that he had attacked her.

Brown was arrested and released on bail with a promise to appear in court in December. Read the Telegraph’s account here.

This isn’t the first time Ian has been in trouble with the law. In 1998, he was arrested, convicted and jailed on an air rage charge on a British Airways flight from Paris to Manchester.

Wasn't he actually banned from British Airways for life because of that incident?? Makes you wonder what kind of a temper the guy must have.

5 Songs You Gotta Hear Today
  1. Kae Sun

    Lion On A Leash

The title track and first single from the genre-blurring Ghanaian/Canadian artist’s debut full length album.

Sounds like Ben Harper, Bedouin Soundclash, K-Os
  2. Darkest Hour

    Into The Grey

Death metal/hardcore merger out of DC that records for Victory Records. Latest album, The Eternal Return, dropped in 2009.

Sounds like Entombed, Lamb Of God, Carcass
  3. Voodoo Bunny

    Zed Is For Zombie

The first video from the hard-rocking pop/punk band. Lots of fun, plus they own their Canadian-ness with the first word of this song title. The Queen would approve.

Sounds like The Creepshow, Bloodsucking Zombies From Outer Space ... and a dash of Misfits, of course
  4. Rynecologist

    Burnin' Up

This Toronto DJ/producer/remixer takes the piss out of the Jonas Brothers. Let's hope this starts a trend in the electro/house community.

    Sounds like Deadmau5, Paul Oakenfold
  5. Star Eyes

    Disappear

One of the first female drum & bass DJs in the U.S., now writing and performing original tunes. She calls the style "haunted house," and that fits.

Sounds like goths taking over a rave, looking to assimilate the party-going masses through song.
