Love is the Drug and Lucinda Williams

Valentines Day this year is going to be on a Sunday, which works perfectly with the Legends radio series (most affiliate stations run the show that day each week).  Episode #300 will in fact be 'Love is the Drug' featuring a number of songs that liken the 'L' word to getting a fix.

Years ago, I had the good fortune of front row seats to see Tom Petty, which in an of itself was a great but the real gem of the night was the opportunity to see the artist named "America's best songwriter" by TIME magazine in 2002.

For sake of reference, the great Emmylou Harris once said of the artist in question: "She is an example of the best of what country at least says it is, but, for some reason, she's completely out of the loop and I feel strongly that that's country music's loss."

But 'Country' is an unneccesary and incomplete banner for Lucinda Williams.   She's also folk, blues, soul and rock.

But never mind the categories.  Simply enjoy this love-is-the-drug song that I must have cranked 5 times last night over a couple glasses of red.

With thanks to Lori for turning me on to it.

Check out the lyrics ...

Cheers,

Jeff.
