Message to long-time Legends Blog contributors

Posted by: Jeff Woods | Jun 23 2009 11:30AM

This is escecially for but not limited to all the long-time Legends' Blog visitors, who have for as long as the last few years been coming and looking, listening and commenting.

I simply want you to know that the recent changes to the blog, in the way it looks, are simply changes to how the back-end works (that's web-geek talk for the system behind the scenes  ... the 'cms' or content management system (is the tape coming off my glasses?) has been innovated PLUS the company I work with, that own's these classic rock radio stations, has launched exploremusic.com and as such, my blog and Alan Cross's Blog and all the other music related blogs and content either originate from or are linked from the catch-all music discovery site we called exploremusic.

So, Lola, Dawn, Debbie, Steve,  Danny, Jon, Jim, Sam and EVERYone who's been chiming in and sharing, please know that only the look has changed.  I'm still the warm body behind this thing and your comments go to nobody but me to see and share with the whole class.

We good?

Any questions?  Anything at all?

Love you.  No really.

Beside the music, I live for the interaction so please, don't be shy.

Cheers,

Jeff

I love this new look. The old page was giving me some funky error messages at the end of its life and I wasnt able to see the blog. Personally, I dont care what it looks like as long as I am able to read what you are putting out there and watch the awesome vids you post. Keep up the excellent work, Jeff.

There was never any doubt that you were the warm body behind the blog, I thought that maybe you were going to stop adding your comments, responses etc. Glad to see that's not happening (I'm a fan of the interaction too!). Rest assured, I have been reading, but not always able to comment. (I did enjoy reading about Zowie Bowie!)

I have been reading just in one of my occasional introverted moods. Now, i have far too much respect for you to lie to you so i'm not going to say i like the new layout of the website/blog. However, what i will say is that i don't hate it. It just seems a little...generic, sterile: two words i would never associate with you or your work which is always as interesting as it is informative. But, it's all just wrapping paper, isn't it? The important thing is the wonderful little gifts you bequeath us with regularly, the benefit of your wit and knowledge and the favor of your reply. You are one of a kind. Thank you for that. We're always good, unless of course we're really bad.

Jeff Woods: Candid and kind. For these things I thank you immensely.

Hi Jeff When I have changes to how my back end works I consult a proctologist. He told me he was just this close to becoming a gynecologist-groan. I have no problem with the new layout and your content is great as always! Now go ride your steel horse. Doctor's orders.

Jeff Woods: The great Doctor Ben Dover N. Cough.

The package might have changed but your words of wisdom and wit will always get my attention. But i have one small beef. How the hell was the Alberta Ride for Sight? Not that it has a lot to do with music but the sound of a H.D.throttling down a lonely highway is music to be appreciated and enjoyed by only those that have been there.Rock and Ride Mexdale

Jeff Woods: Cheers Mex-man. The Ride was great! I mean, the road from Calgary to Old's is, well, not thrilling, and I hope they move it to say, Canmore or Banff, but I realize the weather in June is unpredictble still so who knows. The H.D. did rumble nicely all the same, to your point. And we raised almost 150K, for the Foundatin Fighting Blindness, which was fantastic.

Always enjoy your blogs, comments and Legends of Rock as the detailed information is quite remarkable. Changes to websites are always subject to scrutiny but I find it good and easy to navigate.

Jeff Woods: so glad, thanks for your input Michael.
