Explore rocks the Legends Blog and more Beatles Rockband

Posted by: Jeff Woods | Jun 16 2009 1:10PM

Just back today from Ridin' in Southern Alberta.  The gang raised about $146,000 towards research by the Foundation Fighting Blindness.  Lots of legends listeners contributed, so thanks!   Next ride goes this weekend in Ontario, up to Collingwood. Please pass this link along to  your friends with deep pockets who listen to Legends ;)

By the way, along with former radio pal, longtime Q107 Toronto employee Debbie Dixon (she puts on the rides for the Foundation), we rode with my new best pal HGTV's Real Renos host Jim Caruk.   I had tears streaming down my cheeks while riding, laughing with him (and AT him).  Truly a gentleman and a rider.

Now, about the legends blog and in response to Steve's questions a minute ago in my inbox:

Steve:  Please tell me that this is not what you had in mind when you mentioned the potential improvements to its format.  Are you being shuffled off into an offshoot enterprise by Corus or is this your idea?  Where is the Q107 blog?  Where are our comments?  Where are your responses?  Where are the archives?  And what is with the disclaimer on the Explore Music sight that pretty much says that only comments deemed suitable to the Explore Music team will be posted?  I doubt I'm the only one who hates this.

Me:  This is it Steve.   Same content, slightly different presentation.   My pals Alan Cross and Ira Haberman and Nathalia and the Explore Team (passionate bunch about music and radio and life) have brought the blogs into the new millenium in many ways.   You can still comment and I can still comment on your comments - in fact, other than the way it looks nothing has changed.  I post an entry, you read, view, guffaw, enjoy, and comment at will.  I check for comments as often as possible and most often comment back and publish.   The disclaimer about suitability is simply to discourage freaks from writing anything that's not in keeping with a level of human decency (sex, race, religion, the usual territories).

I've gotta get moving and find some things to share.

We good?   Muchos gracias.

Now, this is trippy.  A long format commercial for the new Beatles: Rock Band game.  Do enjoy.

Jeff.
