ExploreMusic chats with Buddy Schaub of Less Than Jake

Posted by: Mike Sullivan | Jan 5 2010 4:00PM

Back in November, myself and special correspondent Mike Daly, went down to the Phoenix to interview Buddy "Goldfinger" Schaub of Gainesville Florida's Less Than Jake.  He plays trombone...and sometimes bass...and is the dude on the far left of the picture.  Now, I was pretty stressed out that day....my mac at home was being crappy, and then protools crashed on m e while trying to finish some work in the morning.  However, I had to post this interview because Buddy was perhaps one of the funniest dude's I've interviewed.  Like, the Bon Jovi stuff at the end of the interview is CLASSIC...hahaha, makes me laugh just thinking about it.  Anyways, here's our conversation with the punk/ska vet...

Thanks for the laugh Buddy, definately flipped my day.   Both me and Daly were stoked after the interview...good times.  Eff protools! (sometimes) For more info on all things Less Than Jake, swing by their website...www.lessthanjake.com
Here's a track off their latest release GNV FLA...check it out.

Cheers

Sully

    One Reason

Pennywise's forthcoming tenth album will be their first without vocalist Jim Lindberg. This track is from their ninth album.

  2. Four Year Strong

It Must Really Suck to Be Four Year Strong Right Now

Catchy pop punk band that's burned through more than half a dozen members in its nine year existence.

Sounds like Polar Bear Club, Rise Against, Sum 41
  3. Riverboat Gamblers

    Victory Lap

From the Texan punk band's appropriately titled 2009 album, Underneath the Owl.

Sounds like Cobra Skulls, The Loved Ones, Dillinger Four
  4. Tip The Van

    Cherry Red

Ska-loving Connecticut rock band with six members—three women, and three guys named Brian.

Sounds like No Doubt, but with more guts.
  5. ICanMakeAMessLikeNobodysBusiness

The World We Know, the band's first album in six years, is part of a three-album set that will all be released by the end of the year.
