A Key Alone
Adam Morrison
Dan Auerbach (one half of the Black Keys) is releasing a solo album on February 10th, according to Billboard.com. Keep It Hid is the name of the effort, and Auerbach’s father and his uncle are featured as guest writer and performer (respectively), and vocalist Jessica Lee Mayfield also makes an appearance. “It’s all over the map,” Auerbach says of the music on Keep It Hid. “I write songs for Black Keys, so some of them sound like they could be Black Keys songs. But some songs are just acoustic guitar. There’s some real dark tunes and some psychedelic rumbas.” The singer will play some shows as a solo artist, which he says will not feature any Black Keys material.
