Supernova.com's Battle of the Bands

Supernova.com has a serious treat in store for indie Bands with one great track. In a special Online Halloween Battle of the Bands, top artists will put one original song up for the chance to win the ultimate music opportunity: an artist consultation package with The Pilot Agency, one of the fastest growing talent and event design agencies in Canada.

Bands each submit one original song to Battle against the others in an online listener-determined competition. Bands can rally their fans and invite new listeners to check out the tracks to try and win the listener vote. The goal is to gain as many votes as possible before midnight on Halloween.

The band with the most votes will win the opportunity of a lifetime – a private consultation with Joel Baskin, president of The Pilot Agency. Baskin has established a new way of booking and touring with The Pilot Agency. He is also an accredited member and proud supporter of FEO, COCA, OCFF, AFM & CARAS. With artists ranging from The Black Crowes, to Live, to Snoop Dogg and even Collective Soul playing under the Pilot banner, an artist consultation with The Pilot Agency is a unique opportunity. Joel can use his knowledge of the ever-changing music industry and the profitable touring segment to assist any act in taking the next step to success.

The Supernova.com Online Halloween Battle of the Bands voting starts today, Thursday October 22nd and runs up until Halloween night on October 31st. No experience is necessary to enter, and anyone with a good musical opinion is encouraged to vote and help choose who deserves the artist consultation package.

5 Songs You Gotta Hear Today
  1. Jeff Martin

    The World is Calling

Since the Tea Party disbanded in 2005, their former frontman has been working on a solo career, among other things. The lead single from his first and so far only solo studio album, 2006's Exile and the Kingdom, is reportedly an open letter to the Bush administration.

Sounds like The Tea Party (you guessed it!), The Doors at their most worldly psychedelic
  2. Hello Beautiful

    Virginia Symphony

This Whitby band blends punk, rock, and hip hop in a refreshingly unique and engaging way. Soundtrack For Scenario is out now, and keep an ear out for a new album in 2010.

    Sounds like 311, Billy Talent
  3. Think About Life

    Sweet Sixteen

You might think about life while listening to this Montréal band, but you'll probably be too distracted having a good time.

Sounds like SLAVE to the SQUAREwave, The Sounds crossed with a light-hearted MGMT
  4. The Rural Alberta Advantage

    Don't Haunt This Place

Recently signed to Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst's record label, Saddle Creek ... catchy Toronto by way of Alberta indie rock ... incredible harmonies!

Sounds like Ra Ra Riot, Death Cab For Cutie, Hayden
  5. Najuah

    I Don't Wanna Love U

Toronto six-piece fronted by two sisters. Diverse influences, a rock & roll attitude, and some good grooves give them very broad appeal.

Sounds like No Doubt stripped of their ska, some time before Gwen went bananas.
